Main break soaks Green Meadows
GREENFIELD — A water main break Friday on Green Meadows Drive near Fields Blvd. kept Greenfield Water Utility workers busy most of the day.
Residents notified the water department of the break at about 11 a.m., and employees had the break repaired by about 1:30 p.m., said water department superintendent Charles Gill. About eight employees worked to repair the burst pipe, which gushed water high into the air over Green Meadows Drive.
One residence lost water services temporarily because of the break. Gill said he was not sure Friday afternoon how much water had been lost, but he thanked Greenfield residents for being understanding and for reporting the issue promptly.
