GREENFIELD — Each year, the Greenfield Central School Foundation recognizes outstanding alumni of Greenfield-Central schools — people who have gone on to make a difference in their career fields and communities after graduation.

Nominations for the 2015 Alumni Hall of Fame are being accepted. Here’s what you need know.

1. Grads of Hancock Central and Greenfield high schools welcome

Nominees need not have graduated from Greenfield-Central High School; graduates of the former Hancock Central and Greenfield high schools also will be accepted.

Graduates must have been out of school for at least five years to be eligible. Posthumous awards also are presented.

2. They represent the best of the best

The foundation looks to honor those who have earned special achievements in their professions; who have demonstrated community service; who have received honors on a local, regional, national or international level; or who have made contributions to society in general.

Nominees are not required to have stayed in Hancock County.

3. The deadline to submit a nomination is May 15.

You may nominate someone else, or you may nominate yourself by May 15. Inductions are conducted at the foundation’s annual Red Letter Gala in the fall. Nominees not chosen for the 2014 class may be resubmitted for consideration for the 2015 class. Forms may be submitted online. Visit gcschoolfoundation.org and click on the “Our alumni” tab. Select “Nominations.” Printed forms may be mailed to 110 W. North St., Greenfield, IN, 46140.
