HANCOCK COUNTY — The academic teams from Eastern Hancock High School recently competed at Centerville High School against six schools testing their skills in mathematics, English, science, social studies, fine arts and interdisciplinary (a combination of the other subject areas).
The school’s math and English teams each placed second, and the interdisciplinary team earned third place.
Several students also won individual awards, including Daniel Hicks for first place in mathematics, Jessica Hoopengardner and Daphne Letherer for second place in English (tie), Tristan Thorton for third place in science and Liz Herndon for third place in social studies.
