Greenfield Area Soccer Club spring soccer registration ends March 1.

Show off hoops skills at Eastern Hancock

The Eastern Hancock Athletic Boosters will conduct their annual 3-on-3 basketball tournament March 14 at Eastern Hancock Schools. The tourney will consist of five divisions of play for boys and girls, as well as an open division for those older than high school age. Early registrations due March 7. Space permitting, registrations will be accepted from 9 to 10 a.m. the day of the tourney.

Youth baseball, softball sign-ups now underway

•Baseball players ages 4 to 18 and softball players between the ages of 4 and 13 can register online through Monday for the New Palestine Youth League at nypl.com. For more information, email [email protected].

•The Eastern Hancock Youth Baseball Program for Eastern Hancock School Corporation boys and girls can register for 6U, 9U and 12U leagues with Lorrie Edwards in the high school athletics office. Cost is $50 per player. Volunteers for coaching and umpiring are sought. For more information, contact Stu Fisher at [email protected].

•Registration for the Greenfield Youth Baseball Association Recreational League will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday and Feb. 28, at the Riley Park concession stand, 810 E. Lincoln St. The league is for boys ages 5 to 16. Practices begin in late March, with games beginning April 18 and continuing through June.

•A New Palestine High School Softball Clinic will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 28 and from 10 a.m. to noon on March 7 for Grades K-6. The clinic will be directed by coach Ed Marcum, varsity head coach. Flyers available at all elementary schools.

Cougars athleticshas full slate of events

•The Greenfield-Central boys basketball team will help raise money today for the family of Columbus North’s Josh Speidel, who recently sustained a serious head injury in a car accident. A donation jar will be available at the main entrance of the Greenfield-Central home basketball game against Rushville, which will begin with the junior varsity game at 6 p.m. Cheerleaders also will be in the stands to accept donations. Online donations can be made at gofundme.com (search for #JoshStrong). Also, Greenfield-Central winter sport senior athletes and media will be recognized between the junior varsity and varsity boys game. The Blue Fusion Dance Team will be recognized at varsity halftime.

•Greenfield-Central cheerleading open practice for Grades 9 to 12 is 6 to 8 p.m. March 2 and 9 in the Cheer Loft. A mandatory cheer parent meeting will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. March 11 in the Cougar Meeting Room. Clinics are 6 to 8 p.m. March 17 and 19, with cheer tryouts at 4 p.m. March 20.
