Local group bringing in “CHiPS” stars for fundraiser

Here, Blue Angel Connect board members Brent Burris, Laura Basham and Kim Burris share about an upcoming fundraiser called Dinner with CHiPS. Blue Angel Connect was started in 2016 best known for its Holiday Hope Christmas program, which provides Christmas gifts to local families. Deadline to buy tickets for the fundraiser featuring the stars of the TV show “CHiPS” is Sept. 30. The Greenfield-Central High School boys soccer team spent Saturday morning volunteering at Brandywine Park with the Greenfield Area Soccer Club, supporting the players, clearing trash, moving equipment and more.

Mt. Vernon High School student leaders took a photo with Kevin Atlas recently, after the motivational speaker spoke to them about being committed to leading in their school. Atlas also spoke to the student body. At nearly seven feet tall with his left arm discontinued just below the elbow, Atlas became the first disabled player in NCAA history.

A small group of Weston Elementary School third-grade students and their teachers recently attended a meeting of the Greenfield-Central School Board, sharing math skills and critical thinking. The school board hears from at least one featured school each meeting for updates on programs and curriculum.
