Youth conference begins March 17
GREENFIELD — “Overflow,” this year’s United Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ National Youth Conference, is set for March 17-18 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 1202 E. Fifth St., Greenfield.
Bobby Weir of Hymera will speak in services at 7:30 p.m. March 17 and 4 p.m. March 18.
Lisa Bradshaw of Central City, Kentucky, will speak at 11 a.m. March 18. A breakout session begins at 2 p.m.

Associate pastor joins New Palestine church
NEW PALESTINE — The Rev. Bill Henderson has joined New Palestine Bible Church as a part-time associate pastor of Christian education and children’s ministry.
Henderson graduated in 1967 from Warren Central High School, where he was a three-sport athlete. He graduated from Pillsbury Baptist College in Minnesota in 1971 and received his master of religious education from Grand Rapids Baptist Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1974.
He has pastored for 44 years in Grand Rapids; Rochester, Minnesota; Bowling Green, Ohio; and Lafayette.
He moved back to the area in 2019, settling in Greenfield. He is married and has two children and three grandsons. His hobbies include coin and sports card collecting, IU basketball, Ohio State Buckeyes football, and golf.
Chili cookoff set at St. Thomas
FORTVILLE — Parishioners will bring their best pot of chili to the St. Thomas Chili Cook-off, set for 7 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 25) at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 523 S. Merrill St.
Those not bringing a pot of chili can offer dessert or salad items. Hotdogs, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chili toppings, table service and drinks will be provided.
The event is sponsored by the parish’s Religious Education Committee. The 2022 chili cookoff winner was Kevin Wagner.
Body Builders to promote evangelism
GREENFIELD — The inaugural meeting of Greater Greenfield Body Builders is from 9 a.m. to noon March 11 at Curry’s Chapel Church, 3488 N. County Road 375E, Greenfield.
Don Barnes, pastor of Greater Grace of Central Indiana, will give the opening prayer. Rich Bailey, pastor of Curry’s Chapel Church, will give the keynote “Don’t Look Up.” Retired Curry’s Chapel pastor Steve Ellis will speak on “Foundational Mandates,” including the Great Commission in Matthew 28 of the Bible. Alex Wortham, bishop of Kingdom Word Outreach Ministries in downtown Greenfield, will speak on “No CHILD Left Behind.”
