GREENFIELD — The Greenfield City Council this week preliminarily approved a funding request for new Tasers for the Greenfield Police Department.
Police Chief Jeff Rasche asked council members to allocate about $91,600 from the city’s Local Option Income Tax fund — reserved for public safety-related expenses — to purchase 44 new Tasers for the department’s officers.
The request will go before the council once more July 26 before the Tasers can be purchased.
