Wilbur Eugene Weimer

Wilbur Eugene Weimer, 92, of Knightstown, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013. He was born Jan. 28, 1921, in Winchester, Ind., the son of Alva and Blanche Weimer.

A lifelong farmer, Wilbur was very active in the Knightstown community throughout his life. He served on the Henry County Planning Commission, was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and Kiwanis Club, where he had served as president. He also enjoyed flying his own plane.

He is survived by two sons, Robert (Camile) Weimer and David (Jean) Weimer, both of Knightstown; stepson, Larry (Rosalie) Kaylor of Langhorne, Pa.; grandchildren, Heather (Greg) Turner, Monica (Alex) Pasquel, Wendy (Doug) Sawyer, and D.J. Weimer; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Mackenzie, and Nathan Turner, William Pasquel, Audrey, and Ella and Caroline Sawyer; two sisters, Thelma McAllister and June Kessen; a brother-in-law, Ernest Thornburg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mabel Wilson Weimer in 1989; and his second wife, Willodean Gephart Kaylor Weimer in 2011; sister, Betty Thornburg;  granddaughter, Hilary Anne Weimer; and two brothers-in-law, Jay McAllister and Bud Kessen.

Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Curt Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery.
