Siblings Violet Perry and Wesley Perry pulled off a first and second place win at the McCordsville Elementary School spelling bee last month. There were roughly 30 third, fourth and fifth-grade students competing. At the end of the competition, the brother-sister duo went head-to-head for seven rounds until Violet pulled off the first place victory with the words “demure” and “chasm.”
