Curtis E. “Curt” Eldridge, age 84, of Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on January 23, 1940 to Clyde C. and Maudell (Nash) Eldridge. He graduated from New Palestine High School in 1959. Curt then continued his education at Purdue University. He also proudly served in the United States Navy. He married the love of his life, Cheryl (Pope) Eldridge on May 18, 1963 in Greenfield, Indiana and they enjoyed sixty-one years of marriage together.

He worked for Eli Lilly and Company as a Production Supervisor for twenty-nine years until his retirement. He was a member of the Greenfield Country Club, the Greenfield Elks Club, and the Greenfield Bass Club. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing and golfing in his spare time. Curt had a passion for cars and liked to go to car swap meets and loved working on cars. He also took pleasure in showing his cars at local car shows.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Pope) Eldridge of Greenfield, Indiana; daughters, Cathy (Danny) Powell of Shelbyville, Indiana and Christy Eldridge of Greenfield, Indiana; sister, Judy Spivey of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Carli (Jared) Shand, Blake (fiance Raegan) Powell, and Mary Beth Goodwin; sister-in-law, Joy Pope; nephews, Jeff (Tammy) Pope and Jason (Jan) Pope. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde C. and Maudell (Nash) Eldridge; grandson, Bailey Scheible; and brother-in-law, Gordy Pope.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana.
