Chamber to highlight work at soup kitchen

GREENFIELD – Learn about the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen in an upcoming event.

The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will feature Jill Ebbert, director of the soup kitchen, in its June 4 meeting. The event is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield. Register by May 31 at greenfieldcc.org; cost is $15 for a catered lunch.

Car wash fundraiser benefits scholarship fund

GREENFIELD – Carwash tickets this month raise money for the Ora V. Callahan Family 4-H Award Scholarships.

Crew Carwash and the Community Foundation of Hancock County are hosting the fund. To purchase tickets, visit facebook.com/CelebrateHancockIn. Fifty percent of proceeds this month from tickets benefit the scholarship fund, which honors the Callahan family by giving six scholarships each year. Downtown shopping program available

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street is promoting shopping downtown this summer through Downtown Dollars.

Gift certificates for $25 can be used at downtown businesses; for each $25 purchased, an additional $10 will be given for a consumer total of $35 to be spent at participating locations.
