Seven Hancock County players and one coach are scheduled to be participants next month in the 22nd IBCA/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Showcase at Ben Davis High School.

Eastern Hancock freshman point guard Kenzie Koch and Greenfield-Central 6-foot junior Madison Sonsini will be part of the girls showcase to take place June 13.

Greenfield-Central all-state guard Braylon Mullins and head coach Luke Meredith; Mt. Vernon sophomore guards Luke Ertel and Julien Smith; and New Palestine all-state guard Julius Gizzi and post player Ben Slagley are slated to be part of the boys showcase on June 28.

Staged by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association with support from the Indiana High School Athletic Association and presented by Ballogy, the Underclass Showcase events are designed to give exposure to approximately 251 of the top basketball prospects from across the state (120 boys, 131 girls) to colleges across the state and nation.

The 2024 Girls’ Showcase will be conducted in one session. It will begin at 12:30 p.m. and run until about 5:35 p.m. The 2024 Boys’ Showcase will be conducted in two sessions — the first session starting at 11:00 a.m. and running until about 2:45 p.m. and the second session starting at 3:00 p.m. and running until about 6:45 p.m.

Both Showcase events are being held during the NCAA’s “scholastic viewing period,” which allows coaches from NCAA Division I programs to attend in person.

The Showcase events are open to the public. Admission is $5 per person per day for spectators. IBCA-member coaches will be admitted at no charge by showing their IBCA membership card.

The coaches overseeing these events for the IBCA are Kristi Sigler of Jennings County and Jane Schott of West Lafayette for the 2024 Girls’ Showcase as well as Michael Adams of Evansville Reitz and David Wood of West Lafayette for the 2024 Boys’ Showcase.
