Donna R. (Hess) Sturges loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, age 67, of Willow Branch, Indiana, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at Greenfield Healthcare Center. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1956 to Gordon C. and Jean Louis (Vivian) Hess. She graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1975. Donna continued her education at the Professional Careers Institute located in Indianapolis, Indiana where she received a degree in Medical Assisting. She married Mark Thomas Sturges on May 6, 1978.
She worked for NineStar Connect and excelled as a customer service representative for over seventeen years before retiring in 2022. When Donna was able to attend, she greatly enjoyed the services of the Greenfield Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family and friends and had a special place in her heart for her dog, Harley. Donna was known for always thinking of others on their special day, whether it was an anniversary or a birthday. She would often go out of her way to bake something for that person to acknowledge them and support them. She had a big heart and endless love to share.
She is survived by her son, Brandon Sturges of Willow Branch, Indiana; step-son, Jason (Keri) Sturges of Florida; five step-grandchildren, Jason, Breanna, Kayla, Joshua, and Damien; ten step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Bobby (Cris) Hess of Pendleton, Indiana; Steve (Donna Lee) Hess of Greenfield, Indiana; Debbie (Evitt) Howell of Greenfield, Indiana; Jenny (Mike) Roberts of Greenfield, Indiana; brother-in-law, Bruce Sturges of Indianapolis, Indiana; sister-in-law, Sue Sturges of Indianapolis, Indiana; her loving dog Harley; many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon C. and Jean Louis (Vivian) Hess; and husband, Mark Thomas Sturges.
The family would like to give additional thanks to Betty Rush and Sharon and Tony Schrieber and many other friends and coworkers for always being there.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Celebration of Life will be held following the visitation, at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Rob Rigsbee will be officiating. Inurnment will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield, Indiana at a later date.
