Mary Ann Hawkins, 94 of New Palestine, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Woodland Terrace of New Palestine. She was born on September 3, 1929, in Indianapolis to Edmund &Hazel (Hartman) Naue.

She and her husband, Robert were married on July 1, 1951, and made their first home in Spring Lake, IN for many years. They raised both of their sons in their hometown of Spring Lake. When they were in their 70’s Mary Ann and Robert moved to a rural property near Morristown. At both of their homes, you could find a large garden where Mary Ann would can and freeze her fresh produce. Mary Ann also enjoyed sewing and needlework crafts. She was very proud of her work for the Demolay and Masonic Lodges, where she would sew the members aprons. Mary Ann was a life-long homemaker and legal secretary. She was also a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael Hawkins; and Stephen (Laura) Hawkins; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 71 years, Robert Hawkins; her parents and siblings.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. An Order of the Eastern Star service will follow the visitation at 12:00pm. Private entombment will take place at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
