Early voting starts April 9 at the Hancock County Courthouse.

GREENFIELD – Early voting begins April 9 for the upcoming primary election.

The Hancock County Courthouse at 9 E. Main St., Greenfield, will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays from April 9 to May 3 for early voting. Voters should use the north entrance only for the courthouse to gain access to the clerk’s office to vote. The site is also open 8 a.m. to noon May 6.

Beginning April 22, in addition to the clerk’s office, five locations will be added throughout the county for early voting.

Both buildings of the Hancock County Public Library will be open for early voting 2-7 p.m. weekdays from April 22 to May 3, and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 and May 4. The Greenfield library is at 900 W. McKenzie Road; the Sugar Creek branch is at 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, located at 398 Malcolm Grass Way, Greenfield, will also be open weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. from April 22 through May 3, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 and May 4. When using this location, there will be parking in the east lot only.

Another early voting location is the Mt. Vernon School Administration building, 1806 W. Ind. 234, Fortville. To access this location, enter off CR 200W. It will be open during the week 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 22 through May 3, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 and May 4. This location will not be available for Election Day.

Randall Residence, located at 6338 W Quiet Road just behind the Gateway Complex, will be open for early voting from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays through April 22 to May 3. This location will not be open on Saturdays.

Twelve locations will be open on Election Day, May 7. All registered Hancock County voters can go to any location. Hours for each location will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
