New Pal kindergarten roundup April 11

NEW PALESTINE – Kindergarten roundup events are coming up at New Palestine Community Schools.

Families in southern Hancock County can check out Sugar Creek, Brandywine and New Palestine elementary schools 5-7 p.m. April 11. The district serves families in Brandywine and Sugar Creek townships. Those who are unsure about which elementary school their child will attend should email Amber Rush at [email protected].

Complete a pre-enrollment form at newpal.k12.in.us/departments/registrationenrollment. Plan to bring a birth certificate, immunization records, driver’s license or state-issued photo ID card, and two additional proofs of residency such as a mortgage statement, paystub, tax return, utility bill or lease agreement.

The school corporation is accepting applications for out-of-district students to join as well. The above website also contains links for applying; send completed forms to [email protected].

Community input sought for future of Greenfield

GREENFIELD – Chime in on what you’d like to see for the next 20 years in the city of Greenfield at an upcoming event.

The city is hosting a community workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. April 1 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

The free event will include snacks and water as city employees develop the 2040 Comprehensive Plan. Join neighbors in an event aimed to gain community input to create a 20-year plan for the city. All age groups are welcome.

Spring flower fundraiser underway

GREENFIELD – A spring flower sale is underway as a fundraiser promote speech and hearing programs and scholarships in Hancock County.

The Upsilon chapter of Psi Iota Xi is selling flowers now through March 31.

Hanging baskets are $20 each or four-inch potted geraniums are $4 each. Hanging baskets are Geraniums (red ivy, pink or lavender), Impatiens (red, salmon, lavender or mixed) and Petunias. Potted plants are Geraniums in red, white, pink, lavender or salmon. To order, text Katie Ottinger at 317-318-8313.

Mobile blood drives coming up

HANCOCK COUNTY – Mobile blood drives are coming up across Hancock County during the first weeks of April.

In Western Hancock County, Daniel’s Vineyard will host a drive April 3 and McCordsville Elementary School will host a drive April 4. In Greenfield, the Rotary Club of Greenfield will host a drive April 11 at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N. East St.
