Kindergarten events coming to MV schools

FORTVILLE – Kindergarten registration for Mt. Vernon schools opens March 25.

The school corporation serves children that live in Buck Creek Township. The first step for kindergarten families is to register on or after March 25 at mvcsc.k12.in.us/kdgroundup. The next step is to attend a Kindergarten Roundup event between 3:30-6:30 p.m. April 2 and April 4 at Fortville, McCordsville or Mt. Comfort elementary schools.

Those who are unsure about which school their child would attend can visit the website for a boundary map. Families should bring their student to be screened for hearing and academic skills; a copy of their birth certificate and immunization records; proof of residency; parents driver’s license; and, if applicable, copies of court papers or individual education plans.

Students that want to transfer into the district but live outside of boundaries must apply during two application windows; see the website for details.
