GREENFIELD – Kevin Mandrell, Republican candidate for State Representative of District 53, announced in a press release that he has received an endorsement from two-term Hancock County Sheriff Mike Shepherd.

Shepherd served for decades in public safety throughout the county, having 18 years of his career with the sheriff’s department before becoming Fortville’s Chief of Police. Shepherd was security manager for Hancock Regional Hospital before being elected Sheriff in 2010, a position he was reelected to in 2014.

“Kevin Mandrell’s experience and character make him the ideal candidate for State Representative,” Shepherd said in the press release. “Having worked closely with Kevin, I know that his business experience, demeanor and character will shine in this role as State Representative. His commitment to the community and his ability to lead with integrity are qualities that will serve District 53 well.”

Mandrell expressed his appreciation for Shepherd’s endorsement and is honored to have Shepherd’s support.

“Former Sheriff Mike Shepherd is known for his faithful service to the community and his commitment to leading with character,” Mandrell said.
