“Mick” or “Gonzo”, or Ronald Michael Evans, as some who knew him, 78, Greenfield, passed away on March 14, 2024, surrounded by loving family members. Mick was born on August 17, 1945, in Greenfield, to Jess Edgar and Myrtle Irene (McPherson) Evans. Mick attended Greenfield High School. He married Mary Jane Graddy on December 8, 1984.

Mick was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Greenfield Parks Department for 28 years, before retiring on May 24, 2011. Mick loved country music, especially artists as Wylan Jennings and Hank Williams, Jr., watching western movies, scrap metaling, deer hunting, dancing, and always being outdoors. He loved working on cars, attending and participating in demolition derby events, watching racing and sporting events, and being around kids. His love for dogs was also abundant, especially his own: Itsy, Chico, and Little Bit. In his younger years, he played the bass in a family/friend band. He attended First Church of the Nazarene in Greenfield.

Mick is survived by his loving children: Rhonda Badger (David), Wes Evans, Josh Evans, Loren W. Lakes and Dennis O. Lakes; grandchildren, Tanisha (Tre) Badger, Jordan Badger (Lacey), David W. Lakes and Breanna Lee Lakes; great-grandchildren, Henry Badger and Debany Lakes; brothers, Gary (Kay) Evans and Tony (Phyllis) Evans; brother-in-law, Bill Lyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 38 years, Mary Jane Evans; and siblings: Bobby Evans, Tom Evans, Jesse Evans, Ellen Andis, Carol Inman, Sharon Lyle, and Marilyn Demaree.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140. The funeral will be held the following morning, Friday, March 22, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., also at the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Huff officiating. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery, Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Humane Society, 214 East Main Street, Greenfield, IN 46140.
