Donald W. Larrabee, a patriot, musician, and dedicated family man, passed away on March 11, 2024, at the age of 74. He was born in Indianapolis to Patrick J. Larrabee and Donna G. Larrabee. After graduating from Arlington High School in 1968, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Marine Corps.

Don’s service in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 was marked by bravery and valor, earning him numerous commendations including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnamese Service Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and a Purple Heart.

An accomplished drummer, Don’s passion for music continued throughout his life. Following his military service, he traveled the country, sharing his talent with various bands. Beyond music, Don was an avid sports enthusiast, finding joy in watching both football and basketball games.

Don also enjoyed a fulfilling career as a Teamster with Local 135 before retiring. Don is leaving behind his sons, Donald P. Larrabee Jr. and Jesse S. (Amber) Larrabee, along with his siblings Daniel (Janie) Larrabee and Sue (Pat) Bolner.

Preceded in death by his parents, Don’s final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery, where he will be interred with full military honors.

A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the New Palestine Lions Club on April 27, 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Don’s legacy of bravery, passion, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
