G-C Alumni Hall of Fame open

GREENFIELD – Nominations are open now for the next class of the Greenfield-Central Alumni Hall of Fame.

The 2024 award will honor and celebrate the successful lives and impactful contributions of Greenfield-Central graduates, including those from Eden, Greenfield, Hancock Central and Maxwell high schools. It recognizes the education provided by Greenfield-Central schools and is honored by the Greenfield Central School Foundation, which seeks to connect the community to the classroom.

Shoe The World drive this month

GREENFIELD – The annual Shoe The World Drive is happening this month, benefiting Changing Footprints, which provides shoes free of charge to people in the community.

Drop off new or used shoe donations to Erlewein Mortuary and Crematory weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The drive continues now through March 31. The mortuary is located at 1484 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield.

De-cluttering program coming up

GREENFIELD – De-cluttering strategies for the home will be discussed at an upcoming event hosted by Purdue Extension.

“Empower Me to be Clutter Free” is set for 6 p.m. March 26 at the Purdue office, 972 E. Park Ave., Greenfield. The session will delve into the emotional barriers that often prevent people from letting go of things. It will also address paper clutter and how to store items. Children’s choir to perform eclipse-themed show

GREENFIELD – Experience “From Darkness to Light” in the Hancock County Children’s Choir spring production.

Show times are 2:30 and 7 p.m. April 6 at Realife Church, 5151 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield. The show will explore the literal meaning of the eclipse through fun and contemplative pieces about the sun and the moon, darkness and light. The choir will expand upon the theme to explore the figurative meaning of darkness (sadness or adversity) and light (joy and healing).
