MCCORDSVILLE, INDIANA
Louis “Louie” Edward Grinley, age 91 of McCordsville, Indiana passed away on Sunday night, March 10, 2024.
Louie was born on December 26, 1932 in Parke County, Indiana, a son of John and Rena (Bartley) Grinley. He married Mattie Leath on May 3, 1969 in Tazwell, Tennessee. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2020. Louie was the youngest of 8 children. He is preceded in death by all 7 of his older siblings.
He is survived by his children: John (wife Tina) Howard of Wilkinson, Indiana, Lisa (husband Rick) Hurst of Fortville, Indiana and Pam (fiancé Jamey) Grinley of McCordsville, Indiana. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, other family members and relatives also survive.
Louie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Throughout his working career he worked in machine repair for Ford Motor Company. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 1997. He was a simple man who enjoyed taking care of his home and mowing grass. He will be fondly remembered.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM – all at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East Funeral Center. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery where Louie will be laid to rest with his wife Mattie.
