Barbara “Bobbie” Sue Valentine, 74, of Lapel, Indiana passed away February 16, 2024 at her home.
She was born August 26, 1949 in Anderson, Indiana.
Bobbie was a 1967 graduate of Pendleton High School.
She retired from the South Madison Community Schools Corporation after 10 years as a special needs bus aide. She also worked as a cartographer for the Madison County Planning Commission for many years prior.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Valentine; three daughters, Stevie Aley, Stacey Valentine and Shannon Valentine; six grandchildren, Chantel Aley, Trey Howard, Conner Marcum, Mikaela (Lawrence Bell) Howard, Hannah (Collin Miller) Aley and Jaythan (Jaydah McDaniel) Howard; three great grandchildren, Xander Howard, Jannuarie Orbick and L.J. Bell; two sisters, Sharon (Joe) Mansell and Karla (Rich) Nathan; many special nieces, nephews, family members, and close friends.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Keith Downey; mother, Martha Josephine (Phillips) Downey Watson Hedgecraft; grandparents, Harry and Agnus Downey and Mary and Krozier Phillips; and a nephew, Ryan Nathan.
Visitation from 2 to 5 p.m., Thursday, February 22, 2024 with service to follow at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bobbie’s memory may be made to the Pendleton Youth Baseball/Softball Association c/o Star Financial Bank.
