Christmas light tour in New Pal area

NEW PALESTINE – The annual “Light the Night” Christmas light tour in the New Palestine area has been announced, highlighting homes with exterior holiday lights worth the drive to see.

The annual tour is hosted by New Palestine Main street. Fourteen homes are on the tour, which people can take on their own at any time. Scan the code for a map at facebook.com/NewPalestineMainStreet.

Reading therapy dogs coming to libraries

HANCOCK COUNTY – Bentley’s Buddies & Friends reading dogs will be at local libraries in January.

Therapy dogs are available to help reluctant or struggling readers; no need to sign up in advance. The dogs will be at the Vernon Township Public Library from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at 625 E. Broadway St., Fortville.

The dogs will be in the children’s rooms of both branches of the Hancock County Public Library from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The Greenfield library is at 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield; the Sugar Creek branch is at 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine.

Parks to host New Years hike

GREENFIELD – Take a New Year’s Day hike with Greenfield Parks and Recreation.

The city department is hosting a free hike 1 p.m. Jan. 1 at Thornwood Nature Preserve. Register at parks.greenfieldin.org.
