New Palestine’s girls basketball team suffered a 45-26 loss at Cathedral Thursday.

Allie Blum led Dragon scorers with 16 points.

New Palestine (6-7) returns to action Tuesday at top-ranked Lawrence Central.

Boys swimming

New Pal swimmers beat New Castle, Eastern

New Palestine’s boys swimming and diving team defeated New Castle and Eastern Hancock Thursday at the New Palestine Natatorium.

The Dragons defeated the Trojans 77-24 and the Royals 79-21.

For New Pal, Reese Cox, Dontae Thompson, Aidan Stephens, James Watson, Dawson Lynch, Blake Hurst and all three relay teams won races.

Girls swimming

Dragons down Trojans, Royals

The New Palestine girls swimming and diving team picked up a pair of wins at the New Palestine Natatorium Thursday to improve to 9-1 on the season.

The Dragons defeated New Castle 61-40 and Eastern Hancock 71-28.

For New Palestine, Chloe Siler, Lauren Appleby, Piper Schaefer and all three relay teams won competitions.

Boys wrestling

G-C downs Shelbyville

On Wednesday, Greenfield-Central’s varsity boys wrestling team defeated host Shelbyville 68-6.

Silas Frye (175), Tristen Lanum (215), Brayden Flener (Hwt.), Lincoln Parsons (126), Cade Zuber (132) all won by fall.

Hayden Tomey and Braeden Ayres received forfeits.

Garrett Sirosky (120) and Aiden Briles (157) won by decisions. JJ Harlow (138) and Mason Thompson (165) won by major decisions.
