Small Business Saturday this weekend

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street has announced Small Business Saturday plans for Nov. 25, with an artisan market and Downtown Dollars pick-up.

The artisan market is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bradley Hall Event Center, 2 W. Main St., Greenfield. Downtown Dollars allows people to spend money on gift certificates for a deal, and spend certificates at several stores in downtown Greenfield. McCordsville tree lighting Dec. 1

MCCORDSVLLE – The Town of McCordsville will host its Christmas Tree Lighting event from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 1 at town hall, 6280 W. 800N., McCordsville.

The event will feature Santa Claus and the Grinch lighting the town’s Christmas tree, as well as photo opportunities. There will be performances by the McCordsville Elementary School Choir and Mt. Vernon Middle School Holiday Band. Free cookies, balloon twisting, face painting and ornament craft kits will be at the event; gourmet hot chocolate is available for purchase.

Write a letter to Santa and drop it in the mailbox at town hall; include a return address for a surprise.

Cumberland holiday festival announced

CUMBERLAND – The town of Cumberland will host its 12th annual Weihnachtsmarkt, the German word for Winter Market, from noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 2.

The festival pays homage to the town’s early German settlers. The free family-friendly event includes artisan vendors, traditional food and beer, live entertainment, kids activities, carriage rides from noon to 4 p.m., visits from Santa from noon to 5 p.m. and a tree lighting at 6 p.m. the entertainment lineup includes Oompapa’s Tuba Quartet, Fort Wayne Tanzer, Heidi and The Melchior Marionettes, Indiana Ballet Conservatory, Indianapolis Liederkranz and Hancock County Children’s Choir. The tree lighting will include fireworks and festival musical performance by Sadie Johnson.

The event will be in historic Cumberland on East Washington Street, from Muessing Street to Starter Street. Visit town.cumbreland.in.us for more.

Parade of Lights planned

GREENFIELD – The annual Christmas Parade of Lights in downtown Greenfield will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2.

The parade route will be from the courthouse annex parking lot, up American Legion Place to Main Street, to Pennsylvania Street, to South Street. The parade will disband at South Street and Riley Avenue; a tree lighting ceremony will be at Depot Street Park.

Fortville plans Winterfest

FORTVILLE – Fortville Winterfest is coming up Dec. 2.

The event hosted by the Town of Fortville Parks features live music, carolers, a parade and tree lighting. Ice skating, crafts and a kids zone is available, as well as visits with Santa and food/craft vendors. Festivities are noon to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 along Main Street in downtown Fortville.
