Breakfast, Christmas market scheduled

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Main Street has announced plans for traditional holiday events in downtown Greenfield.

The Ho Ho Ho Holiday Breakfast is set for three times Dec. 16 at Bradley Hall Event Center; Get tickets through facebook.com/GreenfieldMainStreet.

Also on Dec. 16 will be the BOHO Holiday Artisan Market at Bradley Hall, 2 W. Main St., Greenfield. Live reindeer will be in the alley area next to Griggsby Station. Get a complimentary photo from a vintage Volkswagen photo bus, and gourmet hot cocoa and other treats will be available for purchase from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Food distribution program at MVHS

FORTVILLE – The Gleaners/Mt. Vernon food bank is available at Mt. Vernon High School.

The drive-through style food pantry distributes dry, non-perishable food, meat and more to districts in the Mt. Vernon district twice a month. Cars should line up at Door 20 of the school, 8112 N. 200W., Fortville.

Upcoming dates include 9-11 a.m. Nov. 14; 4-6 p.m. Nov. 28; 9-11 a.m. Dec. 12; and 9-11 a.m. Jan. 9. Visit mvcsc.k12.in.us/community/gleanersmvcsc-food-pantry for details.

School counselors can help with holiday assistance

HANCOCK COUNTY – School guidance counselors and social workers encourage families in need of winter clothing or toys this Christmas to connect with them.

Greenfield-Central, Mt. Vernon, Eastern Hancock and Southern Hancock school corporations all have social workers on hand to connect local families to churches, public safety agencies or community groups that can help. Greenfield-Central asks that parents apply with the counselor of their youngest child’s school.

Holiday Hope program coming up

MCCORDSVILLE – Nonprofit agency Blue Angel Connect gives gifts to families in Hancock and Henry counties through its Holiday Hope Christmas Program.

Police groups offer holiday assistance

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several local public service agencies are offering shopping experiences for families in need this holiday season.

Applications for the annual Cops-4-Kids shopping trip for Christmas gifts for children in need are available now. Applications can be picked up at the Greenfield Police Department weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for lunch) at 116 S. State St., Greenfield. The application can be downloaded at greenfieldin.org. Restrictions apply; call Dana Nance for questions at 317-477-4410. Applications are due Nov. 17.

Shop With a Deputy’s winter assistance program also has applications available. The 21st annual event allows Hancock County Sheriff’s Department deputies to shop with community children in need of winter clothing and other items. Applications can be picked up at the administration office, 398 Malcolm Grass Way, Greenfield or call 317-477-1147. Applications are due Nov. 21.

The Fortville Police Department is accepting applications for 2023 Shop with Public Safety. Applications are accepted through 4 p.m. Dec. 1; the event will be Dec. 9. Visit Fortville Town Hall for an application, or find the link at facebook.com/TownofFortville. Call 317-485-4044 for questions.

Holiday Heroes is a program offered through the McCordsville Police Department. Applications are available on the MPD Facebook page through a QR code; paper applications are in the MPD office; or for questions email [email protected]. Deadline to apply is Nov. 17.
