Greenfield-Central’s girls soccer team scored nine goals in the final home match of the season and defeated Indian Creek 9-0 Monday at the G-C Soccer Complex.

Alyssa Deckard had a hat trick and Paige McCarley and Kalyn Moss had two goals each. Other goals were scored by Mayrin Rodriguez and Loren Bewley.

Assists were by Carly Means (2), Shailynn Steeno (2), Jorja Houston, Grace Cunningham, Moss and McCarley. One goal was unassisted.

Jessica Merritt made three saves for the shutout.

The Cougars (5-7-2) travel to Heritage Christian Thursday.

Boys soccer

Marauders fall to LC

Mt. Vernon’s boys soccer team dropped to 8-5 on the season with a 4-1 loss at Lawrence Central Monday.

Nick Heitman had Mt. Vernon’s goal. Charlie Cole was credited with an assist.

Mt. Vernon’s home match against Ben Davis was delayed due to weather. Final results were not available at press time.

The Marauders play their final regular season match Thursday at Rushville.

Dragons drop match at Franklin

New Palestine’s boys soccer team lost 4-1 at Franklin Tuesday.

The Dragons goal was scored by Elliott Canova.

New Palestine is back in action Thursday, at home, against Pendleton Heights.

G-C loses to No. 6 Fishers

Greenfield-Central’s boys soccer team lost 6-0 to Class 3A No. 6 Fishers Tuesday at the G-C Soccer Complex.

The Cougars are back in action Thursday, at home, in a Hoosier Heritage Conference match against New Castle.

Volleyball

Marauders lose marathon

Mt. Vernon’s volleyball team lost a five-set marathon match at home to Fishers Tuesday.

The Marauders lost 3-2 by set scores of 25-13, 25-27, 23-25, 25-22, 15-9.

Mt. Vernon (12-11, 3-2) plays host to Shelbyville (2-20, 0-4) in a Hoosier Heritage Conference match Thursday.

Dragons downed by Tigers

New Palestine’s volleyball team lost 3-0 at Yorktown Tuesday.

The Dragons lost by set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-9. New Palestine is 18-4 overall and 2-3 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference.

Yorktown completed an undefeated HHC season, 7-0, and are 19-5 overall.

New Palestine hosts Triton Central Thursday.

Royals fall in 3

Eastern Hancock’s volleyball team lost 3-0 to Daleville in a Mid-Eastern Conference home match Tuesday.

The Royals lost by set scores of 25-21, 25-23, 25-19.

Eastern Hancock is 18-6 overall and finish MEC play 6-3. Daleville is 13-5 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
