Greenfield Christian plans Riley Festival boutique

GREENFIELD — Riley Festival preparations are underway for the annual Bake Sale and Boutique at Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Oct. 6-7 at 23 N. East St.

The Boutique will offer a wide variety of home goods, gifts, furniture, appliances, jewelry and many other unique items. Homemade pies, cakes, cookies, snacks, and treats will be available at the bake sale.

New this year will be a coffee and snack bar so visitors may enjoy a piece of pie, cake, or cookie with some coffee as they relax and browse the Boutique and Bake Sale.

Bible read-aloud to feature Proverbs

CUMBERLAND — The monthly community Bible read-aloud series continues at Heather Hills Baptist Church with the book of Proverbs, attributed to King Solomon.

Readings will take place at noon Monday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Past Bible read-alouds have typically lasted about an hour, but this one could be longer. It takes about an hour and a half to read through Proverbs in one sitting.

Church leaders say anyone is welcome to come join in the reading, or simply listen. The church is located at 1421 N. German Church Road, Indianapolis.
