GREENFIELD – Eight teams competed for bragging rights and trophies in the sixth annual Four Post 400 Bed Race Saturday, Sept. 16.

The winners were Greenfield Water Utility for fastest bed, and Hancock County Arts for best-decorated bed. The arts council had a Bob Ross-themed bed, complete with costumes and curly wigs.

The event was hosted by the Dale E. Kuhn American Legion Post 119. The light-hearted fundraiser supports the legion and local veterans in need.

Organizer Ken Meier said they will continue to host it at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, which was new this year, and even more vendors and teams are expected in the future. Next year’s event is already scheduled: Sept. 14, 2024.

The City of Greenfield’s water department won first place at the Four Post 400 bed race Saturday at the Hancock County Fairgrounds.
