GREENFIELD – A bike share program is expanding to Beckenholdt Park, thanks to a grant from The Rotary Foundation and Rotary District 6560.

The Rotary Club of Greenfield announced the grant this week: $2,960 will be used to add more bikes and bike racks to the Greenfield Parks Department’s existing bike share program. Currently, there are bikes at the Riley Park splash pad, Depot Street Park and Brandywine Park available to rent with a credit card and are free as long as they are returned.

“These new bikes will find a home at Beckenholdt Park,” said Ellen Kuker, superintendent of the parks department, in a press release. “Thanks, Rotary Club of Greenfield, for your support and for securing this grant to add bikes to the program that you brought to our community!”

Sara Joyner, Rotary Club of Greenfield’s Foundation co-chairperson, said they’re grateful for the grant, which allows the club to support the parks by connecting the major parks in Greenfield with bicycles.
