SHIRLEY
Donald D. “Dave” Turner, 86 years, passed away September 7, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield. He was born January 7, 1937 in Kirksville, Missouri to the late Gird and Maurine (Lair) Tuner.
Dave graduated from Kirksville High School, received a B.S. from Truman State University and later received his Master’s in Fishery’s Biology from L.S.U. He retired in 1996 after 29 years of employment with the Indiana DNR as a Wildlife Biologist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a bass guitarist for bands that played Blue Grass and Country music. Dave enjoyed spending time cheering on his grandchildren at sporting events and attending their school concerts.
He is survived by his son, Blake (Heather) Turner, grandchildren, Madelynne and Aiden Turner all of Shirley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lora Jane (Smith) Tuner who died in 2014 and his brother, Nelson Turner.
There will be no services at this time, burial will be at a later date at McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson.
