Harvest of Talents bazaar, car show coming Sept. 9

FORTVILLE — The seventh annual Harvest of Talents is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at Fortville Christian Church, 9450 N. County Road 200W.

A bazaar features woodworking, crafts and other items. The event also includes a bake sale, used treasures market, classic car show, silent auction, and breakfast and lunch.

All proceeds will support feeding programs through International Disaster Emergency Service.

Trinity Park offers dinner, movie

GREENFIELD — Dinner & a Movie is set for 6-8 p.m. Friday at Trinity Park Church, 207 W. Park Ave. It features a family movie with food and snacks.

Comfort House offers tours Sept. 9

PHILADELPHIA — A community open house for the Comfort House is planned for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at 2265 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:15 a.m. A free lunch from Smokin’ Barrel BBQ will be served, and there will be tours of the house.

Mt. Comfort Church has renovated a former parsonage at its Philadelphia campus into a duplex offering emergency housing for families following a fire, tornado or other disaster. You can learn more about the house and how to support the project at https://www.mtcomfortchurch.com/the-comfort-house/.

Zion Lutheran offers DivorceCare

NEW PALESTINE — DivorceCare is a weekly seminar/support group meant to share biblical principles for healing from a marriage breakup.

Winter coat giveaway set

GREENFIELD — A free winter coat giveaway will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16.

“Coats of Many Colors” will include winter gear for all sizes, from infant to adult. The event, sponsored by Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Greenfield, will be at Steak ‘n’ Shake, 2121 N. State St., Greenfield. For more, call Pastor Joseph Riggs at 317-496-6845.

Local teacher’s fund for school in Amazon grows

Mt. Comfort resident Susan Thomas has been raising money to build a school in Iranduba, Brazil.

The effort, featured in the July 15 edition of the Daily Reporter, has drawn more than $27,000 toward its $30,000 goal. You can learn more at https://justiceandmercy.reachapp.co/campaigns/iranduba-village-school.

Chicken sandwich drive-thru open

MT. COMFORT — Chick-fil-A lunches are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays (or while supplies last) at Mt. Comfort Church’s Mt. Comfort Campus, 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.

Each lunch costs $10 and includes a Chick-fil-A sandwich, bag of chips, cookie and a drink.

All proceeds go to help support Our Lady of the Apostles Family Retreat Center (2884 N. County Road 700W, Greenfield) and Mt. Comfort Church.
