Free paper shredding available at GBC

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Banking Company has announced dates for its annual Community Shred Days.

The free, on-site shredding will be 9 a.m. to noon June 10 at the Cumberland office; and July 22 at the main office in Greenfield. The shredding is for paper documents only, and participants should limit paper shredding containers to a maximum of three tall kitchen trash bags (13 gallon). Be prepared to transfer shred documents from a vehicle to the shred truck attendant. Shredding services are provided by Stericycle/Shred-it.

Gardening, cooking event coming up

NEW PALESTINE – Garden-to-table tips will be available at an upcoming event at the Hancock County Public Library.

Culinary Adventures with Pam will host a workshop at 6 p.m. June 29 at the Sugar Creek branch of the HCPL, 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine. The event will feature how to use fresh vegetables, cooking demonstrations, recipe samples, shopping tips and more. The event had openings available as of press time; a similar event in Greenfield June 28 is full with a wait list.

Annual community night planned

GREENFIELD – The annual Hancock County Community Night is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. July 19 at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St., Greenfield.

The event will feature demonstrations by public safety agencies, car seat safety checks, bounce houses, raffle giveaways, and free food. Hancock 4 Kids will host their backpack and school supply giveaway at the event.
