GREENFIELD
Richard Allen Truscott, known to most as Dick, age 77, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on October 21, 1945, he was the son of Ellendean (Devine) and Edmund C. Truscott. He attended Greenfield High School. On December 14, 1962, Dick married Judith “Judy” (Benefiel) in Greenfield.
For 34 years, he spent his career working for Chrysler in New Castle and Indianapolis. After retiring in 2000, Dick started spending his winters in Okeechobee, Florida. Returning to Indiana for summer, he enjoyed mowing at The Hawthorns Golf and Country Club in Fishers. He was a member of the UAW Local #371.
Dick was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing guitar and listening to bluegrass music.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Truscott of Greenfield; son, Richard “Rick” (Julie) Truscott of Knightstown; daughter, Lisa (Benjamin) Rink of Tolono, Illinois; grandchildren, Caroline, Sarah and Ryan Rink; 5 step grandchildren, Brandi Greenwood, Tonya Galloway, Jim Galloway, Kaitlin Moore and Kelsie Moore; and his brother, Edmund (Judy) Truscott of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellendean and Edmund; sister, Jean Hess; and son, Greg Truscott.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m.
