Sorority honors members, celebrates anniversary

GREENFIELD – The Upsilon chapter of Psi Iota Xi gathered May 1 to celebrate the anniversary of the chapter’s founding, recognize member accomplishments and install new officers for the coming year. This is the chapter’s 103rd anniversary.

Stacey Stephenson served as the chapter president for two years. Among many other accomplishments, she led the chapter through participation in Match Day, hosted by the Community Foundation of Hancock County. Due in large part to her promotional efforts, the chapter had 87 unique donors and a total impact of more than $26,000 in the 30-hour giving period that benefitted the organization’s endowment.

Stephenson installed the officers for the coming year. They are Deidre Low, president; Cheryl Overman, treasurer; Shelby McMaster, recording secretary; Laura Fletcher, corresponding secretary; and Jennifer Johnston, conductress. Stephenson will remain an officer in the role of advisor.

Kathy Jutte was recognized for 35 years of service to Psi Iota Xi. She was initiated into the sorority in 1988 and transferred to the Upsilon chapter in 2022 from the Theta Zeta chapter in Fort Recovery, Ohio.

Katie Ottinger was recognized as the chapter Psi Ote of the Year. This award is voted on by the chapter membership recognizing outstanding accomplishments over the last year.

Phyllis Arthur, Shelby McMaster, Katie Ottinger, and Cheryl Overman were recognized for perfect meeting attendance over the last year.

The chapter does not meet in the summer months. Members will resume business in September.
