GREENFIELD – A Greenfield woman is under arrest this afternoon on a preliminary charge of intimidation after she posted a threat about burning Greenfield-Central High School on a social media page. Victoria I. Perkins, 19, Greenfield posted a threatening image on her Instagram account earlier Monday, referencing the building burning, officials from the Greenfield Police Department said in a release.

Perkins, a 2022 G-CHS graduate, is the same woman who went into the school April 26 and was caught roaming the halls of her former school while live on Instagram. She was trespassed from the school for that incident.

The post from Monday said, “You’ll burn just like me soon,” with a blue heart emoji super-imposed over a picture taken at G-CHS.

The recent social media post by Perkins had been passed around among students and parents of G-CHS causing serious concern for the safety of the school, officials said Monday. Many parents had called the school to report the post and many parents had removed their children for the day, officials said in the release.

Officials from the GPD were able to located Perkins and she was arrested without incident. She was transported to the Hancock County Jail on a preliminary charge of intimidation.
Formal charges will be determined by the Hancock County Prosecutors Office. She’s scheduled to make her initial appearance in Hancock County Superior Court Tuesday morning.

Officials from the GPD noted they have a strong relationship with the Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation and working together they plan to keep the school communities as safe as possible for everyone.

“Criminal activity in, around or involving our schools is taken very seriously,” Deputy Chief Charles McMichael said in a release. “Threats of any kind are no joking matter.”
