GREENFIELD
Carolyn Jean (Arnett) Barnhart, age 87, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Morristown Manor. Born in Greenfield, on September 24, 1935, she was the daughter of Loretta (Mattix) and Russell Arnett. Carolyn graduated from Greenfield High School with the class of 1953. She married Donald B. Barnhart on July 3, 1953 in Greenfield.
She spent her working career as a bank teller at Greenfield Banking Company. In addition, she was the co-owner of Country Barn Antiques in Greenfield. For years, Carolyn was a 4-H Club Leader. In her free time, she loved antiquing and studying genealogy.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Don; son, Doug (Amanda) Barnhart; daughter, Cathy Muegge; grandchildren, Shane Blue, Brody (Katherine) Barnhart, Cara Blue and Wyatt Barnhart; great-grandchildren, Carlyn Blue, Camryn Blue, Scarlett Barnhart and Harper Barnhart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta and Russell; sister, Barbara Carlton; and brother, Keith Arnett.
Visitation and funeral service will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Merlyn Winters officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
