GREENFIELD
Rose (Spears-May) Ruddell, 76, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Rose was born November 25, 1946, in Virginia, but moved at a young age to Danville, Indiana. After her school years, she moved to New Palestine, Indiana to raise her children, then went back to the west side for her time working after finally settling back down in Hancock County.
Rose had a passion for crafting. She had spent the winter creating many new projects that she had shown much pride in. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening. Rose was always caring for others. She embodied the caregiver personality in all aspects of her life and could often be found talking on the phone to or visiting with family. She even spent her retirement as a school bus aid for special needs children and babysitting her great grandchildren. Truly, family was everything to Rose. She always wanted to make sure everyone was taken care of.
She is survived by her husband, Harry “Bud” Ruddell; children, Wayne (Lori) May and Tina (Marty) Redmon; step-children, Skye (Brady) Griggs and Zoi (Mike) Colburn; grandchildren, Jacquelyn (Paul) Weller, Kyle May, Jeannie Redmon, and Collin May; step-grandchildren, Raina and Ryla Griggs; great-grandchildren, Evan and Ezra Weller; her siblings, Eula Mercer, Ozzie Spears, Junior (Debra) Spears, and Sue (Carl) Dawes; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Zeb Spears; a sibling, Unave Beck; and a step-grandson, Chandler Colburn.

As per Rose’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service held. Please spend time with your loved ones and enjoy each moment as she would have.
