GFT Fire Chief Award Luke Eichholtz

GREENFIELD — Officials with the Greenfield Fire Territory held their annual awards ceremony and banquet this past weekend at Bradley Hall Events, 2 W Main St., Greenfield.

In 2022, officials of the GFT say they responded to 5,064 emergencies throughout Greenfield and beyond, providing a high level of service on each call. Saturday night they recognized those who took a large part of the year’s activities.

Officials with GFT say the ceremony is always a great time to recognize its members for their outstanding efforts throughout the year. In addition to recognizing their members, GFT officials were also able to present awards to members of our community whose heroic actions in emergency situations had a direct impact on saving the lives of another person.

Some of the GFT awards included Firefighter of the Year, Kurtis Davis; Fire Chief award, Luke Eichholtz; Instructor of the Year, Isaiah Faust; Officer of the Year, Battalion Chief Scott Elliott and as well as recognizing Lt. Corey Breese and Division Chief Chris Faust for 20 years of dedicated service.

Officials with GFT sent out a special thank you to the area neighbors for providing coverage for their crews during the ceremony. That included officials with Buck Creek Township Fire Department, Sugar Creek Township Fire Department, Fountaintown Volunteer Fire Department and Green Township Fire Department.
