Why are you running for office?
My family and I love living in this community and supporting our school system. I want to do whatever I can to retain the feeling of community here, while also helping secure the required infrastructure to keep pace with the growth.
How are you qualified?
I have spent my entire career in construction, development and finance. I have watched firsthand the mistakes other communities have made either not embracing the growth or allowing the growth to strip away its identity. With my background, I can help keep the right balance of growth and stagnation.
What are the most pressing issues facing McCordsville?
The most pressing issue with the town is ensuring there are enough funds to secure the amenities and infrastructure the residents desire and deserve. It’s very concerning when you see the peak traffic that our people are enduring so I would like to see a continued emphasis on road and infrastructure improvements. Also, there is a need to enhance the cultural experience, including parks and other public amenities.
How can the town responsibly handle the growth it’s experiencing?
I think there is a nice balance on the council and in the sub-committees with everyone aligned to modulate our growth to a pace that is sustainable. With the economy slowing and interest rates climbing, the rapid growth is pausing and it will become necessary to recruit people and companies to locate here. This will be done with having the best infrastructure and amenities.
