Fish fry event April 15

CHARLOTTESVILLE – The Charlottesville Lions Club Fish Fry is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. this Saturday, April 15. The dine-in or drive-through event features items that can be purchased a la carte: fish, breaded tenderloin, hamburger, hot dog, cole slaw, applesauce, baked beans, french fries, desserts and drinks. The club is located at 10165 E. 25th N., Charlottesville.

Spring market to benefit Hope Center Indy

INDIANAPOLIS – A local market will help raise money for an organization that helps end human trafficking. The 2023 Spring Gather Hope Market is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, April 15. Local vendors will be on site at the vintage market; proceeds of the event will be donated to Hope Center Indy. The event is at the Hope Center Indy’s Freedom Barn, 11850 Brookville Road, Indianapolis. Cost is $3 per person. For more, visit facebook.com/HopeCenterIndy.

Nonprofit workshop coming up

SHELBYVILLE – Shelby and Hancock County residents can attend a free workshop May 2 on starting and organizing nonprofits.

The event, called Nonprofit Formation (& Upkeep) Workshop, will be 10 a.m. to noon at ECHO Effect Arts Campus, 102 E. Washington St., Shelbyville. The workshop is hosted by the Blue River Community Foundation and Shelby County Chamber of Commerce. The interactive session will focus on how to successfully launch a nonprofit; the benefits of having a nonprofit and pitfalls to avoid; navigating best practices and more. If someone has already started a nonprofit, they are still encouraged to come and learn more. A question-and-answer session will be included.
