House history class coming up

GREENFIELD – An upcoming seminar will help residents start investigating their home’s lineage.

“House History 101: Researching Your Home’s History” will be presented from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, April 2 at the Chapel in the Park, 28 Apple St., Greenfield. Brigette Cook Jones of the Hancock County Historical Society will teach on transfer records, online real estate tools, deeds, newspapers, land grants, genealogy, city offices, photos and more. Local libraries to host book clubs

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several book clubs for adults are scheduled for Hancock County libraries in the month of April.

The Ladies in Read Book Club is set for 6 p.m. April 5 at the main branch of the Hancock County Public Library, discussing “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden. A Brown Bag Book Discussion is at 10 a.m. April 11 discussing “Good Omens” by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Learn more or register at hcplibrary.org.

G-C JAG to host job fair

GREENFIELD – A community job fair will be at Greenfield-Central High School April 4.

The event is open to high school juniors and seniors from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and then open to the public from 3:30-6 p.m. The fair is hosted by Greenfield Central Jobs for America’s Graduates and will be in the Dellen Automotive Gymnasium of the school, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield.

Home ownership class coming up

GREENFIELD – An introduction to home ownership course will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6.

The free event, in the community room of the Hancock County Public Library’s main branch in Greenfield, will feature Vickie McIntosh, mortgage loan officer at First Merchants Bank. Sign up at hcplibrary.org or call 317-462-5141 ext. 240 for questions.
