GREENFIELD – Blue pinwheels promoting a safe childhood will abound in an upcoming event. The pinwheel is the national symbol of a safe and joyful childhood, and April is Prevent Child Abuse month. Hancock 4 Kids is encouraging people to wear blue and stop by the parking lot of 312 E. Main St. between noon and 2 p.m. Friday, March 31 to pick up a free pinwheel.

Then, join in for a Pinwheel Community Event for Prevention April 4. Hancock 4 Kids, Firefly Children and Family Alliance, Zoey’s Place, the Indiana Department of Child Services and the Hancock County Public Library will have an evening of awareness, pinwheel planting, crafts, games and free food. The event is 5-7 p.m. April 4 in the Hancock County Public Library’s community room, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. For updates and details, visit facebook.com/hancockcountychildren.
