Educator scholarships available

GREENFIELD – Local students hoping to go into the field of education might consider applying for a scholarship through the Hancock County Retired Teachers Association.

The HCRTA is offering a $1,000 Future Educators Scholarship to a resident of Hancock County graduating from a county public school. Applications are due April 14; contact a school counselor or Susan Geesa, 317-332-2744.

The Indiana Retired Teachers Association Foundation is also offering a $2,000 scholarship to college students in each of the 10 geographic areas of the IRTA. The student must be an Indiana resident attending a state college or university and accepted into an education program. The applicant may apply with sophomore or junior class standing. Applications are due by April 1 and can be accessed at retiredteachers.org; email [email protected] or [email protected] for questions.

Agape to celebrate purchase of site

GREENFIELD – Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the acquisition of their Greenfield facility.

The organization was able to use a grant to purchase the site on Hancock County Road 100 South after years of renting. The ribbon-cutting event will be at 12:30 p.m. March 28 at the site, 531 W. 100 S., Greenfield. For more, visit facebook.com/agaperiding or to attend, email [email protected].

Parks summer job fair coming up

GREENFIELD – Greenfield Parks and Recreation is hosting a seasonal summer job fair.

Open positions include lifeguards, concessions/admissions, maintenance, counselors and special event staff. The job fair will be two days, from 6 to 8 p.m. March 29 and March 31 at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield. For more, visit greenfieldin.org/parks/parks-employment.
