Teddy “Tedd” Edward Davis, 87, Washington, IN passed away from this life at 9:30 p.m. on March 11, 2023, at Eastgate Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation in Washington IN. Tedd was born in Baileysville, WV, on January 31, 1936; the son of Cash Dewey Davis and Launa Cook Davis Buchanan; they both proceeded him in death along with a brother, son and great-grandson.

Tedd had a lifelong love for God, family, and music. He played guitar and sang throughout his life, finding some of his greatest joy through music. Tedd produced three solo albums and traveled as a song evangelist for the Church of the Nazarene and was involved in television and radio ministry. Tedd was an ordained minister with the American Evangelical Christian Church. He was involved in prison ministry in Daviess and Martin Counties, IN and Menard, IL. He was a Chaplain at the Daviess County Community Hospital and a member of the Washington Area Ministerial Association. He also worked as a Loss Prevention Manager at the Walmart Corporation in Olney, IL and held a private investigator’s license for the State of IN. Tedd served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958. Tedd enjoyed bow hunting and riding his motorcycle.

Tedd married his beloved wife Marilyn on November 13, 1999; she survives. Tedd’s children include son, Michael (Denise) Davis (deceased), daughters, Tammy (Dan) Hall, Kelly (Bill) Davis, Leslie Davis, Katie (Gordon) Swygert; and stepchildren, David (Randy Buchanan) Ebler, Maribeth (Tim) Donaldson, Dane (Iva) Ebler, and Daniel (Sabrina) Ebler. Brother, Tommy R. (Carolyn) Davis (deceased); sisters, Sandra Edwards, Patricia (Michael) Ellis and Brenda (Dwight) Smith. Tedd has 21 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael, great-grandson, Matthew Linville, and brother, Tommy R. Davis.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home, 420 S. State Street, North Vernon, at 1 pm. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time for the public. A memorial service will also be held in Washington, IN at a later date.
