Carol A. (Sachs) Galloway, age 68, of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Morristown Manor. She was born in Indianapolis on January 9, 1955 to Betty (Schiefelbein) Lobdell and James Sachs. She was a New Palestine High School graduate and received her associate degree in accounting from Indiana Central. On July 6, 1974, Carol married Mark Galloway. She spent many years working as an insurance agent. Carol liked learning about genealogy and going antique shopping. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her children, Michelle (Craig) Martin and Steve (Liz) Galloway; grandchildren, Evan and Sam Galloway; siblings, Diana (Bob) Carithers and Jim (Terri) Sachs; uncle, Bill (Kathy) Schiefelbein; step-sisters, Marilyn Howard, Sharon (Paul) Bowlen, Janice Reed, Susan (John) Buckingham, Joann (Jeff) Walters, step brothers, Jim (Mary Pat) Moeller, Richard (Lisa) Lobdell, step sister-in-law Kay Moeller; mother-in-law, Beverly Galloway; sister-in-law, Paula Carroll and Karla (Mike) Morrison; many nieces and nephews including niece, Amanda Brown (Matt Sharp). She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and James; beloved husband of 47 years, Mark; father-in-law, Lawrence Galloway; nephew, Shad Carroll; and step-siblings, Linda (Bob) Coleman and Stan Moeller; step brother-in-law Don Howard.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
