INDIANAPOLIS
Robert O. Waymire, known to most as Bob, age 71, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, March 3, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis on October 17, 1951 to Virginia B. (Scalf) and Ralph O. Waymire Jr. He was a 1969 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. Bob’s love for music carried him throughout his working career. He spent time working as a director of quality control for various recording companies, including RCA, Polygram and Capitol Records. He was a past member of the Lions Club and a longtime member at Mt. Comfort Methodist Church. In his free time, he enjoyed keeping up with NASCAR and IndyCar.
Bob is survived by his children, Katherine, Jeremy, Jason and Craig; brothers, Jim, Don, Rick and Tim; grandchildren, Jack, Phoebe and Kinnley. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Virginia and Ralph Waymire.
Visitation and funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at noon. Reverend Michael Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
