Women’s center to host job event today

GREENFIELD – Completing a successful job search will be the main topic of an upcoming event offered by the Hancock County Women’s Resource Center.

The Women’s Empowerment Event, scheduled for 6-7 p.m. today, Feb. 28, will include free help from WorkOne. Attendees will learn where to place their focus, knowing skills and interests, and about the power of networking. WorkOne offers free services to people who are looking for employment and can help with job search assistance, resumes and interview skills.

The event will be at the Hancock County Public Library’s main branch, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

Healthcare scholarship deadlines approaching

GREENFIELD – Hancock Health Foundation is offering several scholarships for healthcare professions, and application deadlines are approaching.

Scholarship opportunities are for students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare fields, such as nursing, nutrition, technology and more. Each scholarship has its own criteria and selection process.

The deadline to apply for the Healthcare and Wellness Scholarship, Jill Carr Memorial Scholarship and Edith Zike Nursing Scholarship is March 1.

There are two School of Radiologic and Technology scholarships, with one application due April 7 and the Mt. Vernon application due May 12.

Inspiring Abilities Expo coming up

GREENFIELD – Families United for Support and Encouragement will host its annual Inspiring Abilities Expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 4 at JB Stephens Elementary School in Greenfield.

The event offers families and professionals an opportunity to network with organizations and service providers who meet the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. Participants can visit the exhibit hall to meet and talk with therapy and service providers, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, recreation programs and more. Admission and parking is free. Love Thy Neighbor event April 14

GREENFIELD – The annual Love Thy Neighbor Banquet benefiting local organizations is scheduled for April 14 at Mt. Comfort Church.

The event by Love in the Name of Christ, will feature speakers and participation by the Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen and Changing Footprints. More information, tickets and sponsorships are available now at loveinc-ghc.org.
