GREENFIELD
Ellanore Marie (Koch) Hartman, age 101, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Brickyard Healthcare at Brandywine. She was born in Indianapolis on March 19, 1921 to William and Margaret (Brune) Koch. She graduated from Warren-Central High School in 1939. Ellanore married Ervin Hartman on January 9, 1945.
She was a lifelong member of St. John United Church of Christ and was the longest living current member. She was a member of the Indiana Farm Bureau. She was a dedicated wife and enjoyed supporting the farmers with anything they needed done. Ellanore loved cats, her flowers, and music. She was once part of a band and enjoyed playing the piano. Ellanore also enjoyed playing cards and bingo with friends.
Ellanore is survived by her four grandchildren, Sherri Koch, Jeff (Jill) Koch, Erin (Ron) Shelnutt, and Emily Brady; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Jacob Shelnutt; and a daughter-in-law, Marsha (Mark) Brady. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Koch; husband, Ervin Hartman; children, Larry Hartman and Phyllis Koch; and son-in-law, Gerald Koch.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will immediately take place following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Janna Meyers will be officiating. Burial will follow at St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery in Cumberland.
